Each year on Mothers day, the TSOAQ hosts the Macleans Bridge static Car display, in the park adjacent to Macleans Bridge on Beaudesert Road, south-west of Brisbane CBD. This is a huge event with hundreds of classic sports cars and Grand Tourers on display. If you're into exotic motor cars and you love a great day out, then this is the 'must do' event of the year. This year (2010) it is to be held on 9 May.

Car clubs are invited to this event by the TSOAQ, which has tried over the years to keep up with changing car trends, yet remain faithful to the intention of having a special day just for sports and "classic sporting" cars. Each major marque is allocated space. Vehicles from the 30's to current typically attend: Triumph, Healey, Jaguar, MG, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Delage, Porsche, Morgan, Rolls-Royce, Benetly, AC, Lotus, Allard, Bolwell, and NIssan to name a few.

Car clubs are encouraged to have a place where existing & prospective members can come for information, support etc. Many clubs have well-organised BBQ's etc. The TSOAQ supports a competition for "best car of the day, people's choice", that all entrants and the public can vote for. In addition, prizes and trophies are awarded for the following.

  • The Best Club Display
  • The Best Presented Pre 1945 Sports
  • The Best Presented 1946-1996 Sports Car
  • The Best Modern (post 1996) Sports
  • Shannons' Choice – The Best Sports Car
  • Best Classic Sedan or Saloon
  • Best Presented Competition Car
  • Shannons – The Most Elegant Vehicle

There is organised parking for about 700 cars, and plenty of room for non-display cars to park over the road and out the back of the park, so don't avoid coming just because you don't have a show car. Catering is available.
